First daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner were spotted at a party over the weekend rubbing elbows with billionaire Democratic financier George Soros and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), Politico reported Sunday.

The couple were among the guests at Lally Weymouth’s Southampton home Saturday, where the former Washington Post editor — whose family owned the newspaper for decades — was holding a star-studded annual party.

WASHINGTON — President Trump lashed out Thursday at the appearance and intellect of Mika Brzezinski, a co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” drawing condemnation from his fellow Republicans and reigniting the controversy over his attitudes toward women that nearly derailed his candidacy last year.

Mr. Trump’s invective threatened to further erode his support from Republican women and independents, both among voters and on Capitol Hill, where he needs negotiating leverage for the stalled Senate health care bill.

Roger Ailes, Founder of Murdoch’s Fox News, Dies at 77

Roger Ailes, a former U.S. presidential adviser who started the Fox News Channel to promote a Republican agenda and built it into the most-watched U.S. cable news network before resigning amid sexual harassment allegations, has died. He was 77.

He died Thursday, the network said, citing a statement from his wife, Elizabeth Ailes. No cause was given.

“Roger was a loving husband to me, to his son Zachary, and a loyal friend to many,” his wife said in the statement, according to Fox News. “He was also a patriot, profoundly grateful to live in a country that gave him so much opportunity to work hard, to rise—and to give back.”

Rex Tillerson on his role as Trump’s secretary of state: ‘I didn’t want this job’

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson offered some insight into how he views his role as America’s top diplomat. In an interview with the conservative-leaning Independent Journal Review published Tuesday night , Tillerson said, “I didn’t want this job. I didn’t seek this job. My wife told me I’m supposed to do this.”

“I was supposed to retire in March, this month,” Tillerson said, “I was going to go to the ranch to be with my grandkids.”

No one seems to want credit for the GOP’s Obamacare replacement bill

Even as major leaders of the Republican party are publicly campaigning in favour of the passage of the American Health Care Act — their bid to repeal and replace Obamacare — it seems as if no one wants full credit for the bill.

Both House Speaker Paul Ryan and President Donald Trump’s teams have pushed back on taking on full responsibility for the contents of the AHCA, biling it as a team effort.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer was asked directly about efforts by both Trump spokesperson Kellyanne Conway and Health and Human Secretary Tom Price to push back on reporters calling the bill “Trumpcare.”

“The president is proud of it. The president is proud of the fact that we’re working with Congress. But this is a bill that is not his, it’s a joint effort that we’ve worked with the House and the Senate on,” Spicer said in a press briefing on Tuesday.
